In July 1984, "Yueqing County Qiujing Switch Factory", the predecessor of CHINT, was founded.

 

In August 1986, Qiujing Switch Factory invested in and established the first laboratory of thermo relay in Wenzhou.

 

In January 1988, Qiujing Switch Factory received the first production license issued by the Electromechanical Department of China.

 

In November 1991, The Sino-U.S. joint venture of Wenzhou CHINT Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd. was formally established.

 

In July 1993, the Party branch of Wenzhou CHINT Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd. was established, and the Party committee of CHINT Group was established in December 1998.

In February 1994, "Wenzhou CHINT Group," the first enterprise group in the same industry in Wenzhou, was founded.

 

In December 1994, Wenzhou CHINT Group passed the international ISO9001 quality system certification, and became one of the first in the low voltage electric machinery industry in China and the first certified enterprise in Wenzhou.

 

In November 1995, CJX2 AC contactor was awarded the Gold Medal of the 44th Brussels Eureka World Invention Fair.

 

In November 1996, CHINT convened the first Conference on Science and Technology, introduced "Provisions of Accelerating Scientific and Technological Progress."

In July 1997, "Zhejiang CHINT Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd.", the first normative joint-stock enterprise of CHINT, was founded.

 

In March 1998, Chairman Nan Cunhui was elected as a representative of the Ninth National People's Congress, and was continually elected as a representative of the tenth and eleventh National People's Congress in January 2003 and January 2008.

 

In July 1998, the N series of new products, independently developed by CHINT, was exhibited in Beijing, marking that CHINT technology development had been gearing towards independent design and development.

 

In December 1999, “CHINT” was identified as a well-known trademark in China by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce.

 

In May 2000, the former General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Jiang Zemin visited CHINT.

 

In May 2001, the member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and the former Vice President, and the present General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission Hu Jintao visited CHINT.

 

In June 2002, CHINT invested 10 million RMB to set up the "Zhejiang Poverty College Student Fund".

 

In September 2003, CHINT branded ACB, MCCB and electric energy meter were awarded the title of "Name Brand Products of China."

 

In November 2003, China Federation of Industrial Economics Fourth Congress was held in Beijing, and the chairman of the board Nan Cunhui was re-elected as the president of presidium.

 

In January 2004, the first residential industrialization base, centered by manufacturing residential electrical parts and approved by the State Ministry of Construction, was settled at CHINT.

 

In February 2004, CHINT produced the first batch of approximately 5,000 button products (NP2) with independent intellectual property rights that was designated to be used in the management facilities cabinets of the new expressways built during the Olympic Games held in Athens. That was the first time for Zhejiang industrial electrical products entering into the Olympic Games infrastructure construction projects.

 

In June 2004, "China Red Ribbon Foundation" initiated by National Federation of Industry and Commerce, CHINT and other 26 private enterprises, was established in Beijing in support of AIDS prevention and treatment. CHINT donated 30 million RMB.

 

In September 2004, Zhejiang CHINT Electric Co., Ltd. received the highest quality management award - the "National Quality Management Award". CHINT was the first company achieved the award in the industry.

 

In October 2004, "China Good Secondary School CHINT Award," initiated by the Communist Youth League Central Committee and the National Federation of University Cooperation Associations, was established in Beijing. CHINT donated 10 million RMB.

 

In October 2004, CHINT was awarded the model organization title for the "creating a study-oriented organization, and trying to be well-educated employees in China" activity. CHINT was the only private enterprise receiver for this award.

 

In February 2005, the First CHINT International Conference of Marketing was held. 106 overseas dealers, from 34 countries and regions, attended the conference.

 

In December 2005, CHINT was the sole representative of the national private enterprises that selected as the "National Model Unit of Study-Oriented Organization" by China Federation of Trade Unions, the State Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Personnel.

 

In June 2006, CHINT Technology R & D Center started constructing in Shanghai with investment of 260 million RMB, covering an area of about 206 acres and the building area of 130,000 square meters, marking CHINT took an important step forward on increasing investment in scientific and technological R & D and upgrading the level of R & D.

 

In November 2006, CHINT succeeded in undertaking the International Standardization Conference of the Electrical Industry in Shanghai, during which CHINT was presented with a leading role and participated in the development of more than 30 international and domestic standards. CHINT completed 173 new products development and 51 international certifications.

 

In March 2007, CHINT was titled as one of the top 300 brands by the "National Key Protected Brands."

 

In October 2007, CHINT Technology Center was recognized as a national-level enterprise technical center. Development of new products and patents throughout that year were 124 and 41, respectively. Additional new international certifications were 45.

 

In May 2008, the company and majority of its staff donated money and goods to support the disastrous areas in rebuilding their homes after the Wenchuan earthquake. CHINT was awarded the "China Charity Award" by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the "Award for Outstanding Contributions to Charity" by Provincial Charity Federation.

 

In September 2008, the first film technology production line of Zhejiang CHINT Solar Co. Ltd. Was put into use, marking CHINT’s formal entry into the field of the world's most advanced second generation for film technology photovoltaic power generation.

 

In October 2008, as the first main sponsor of the small loans company in Yueqing, CHINT Small Loans Limited Liability Company successfully registered and formally operated.

 

In November 2008, CHINT started the "overseas crossway trip", organizing 500 internal marketing elite to tour Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries by taking the “virgin star” cruise and holding a special marketing meeting on the high seas to meet new challenges.

 

In February 2009, the CHINT second-generation film solar battery product, with a photoelectric conversion rate up to 9%, was released. This product filled the blank of domestic technology and stood in the forefront of the world. On February 8, the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee, National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo visited the Hangzhou CHINT Solar Industrial Park.

 

On March 20, 2009, CHINT Astronergy successfully raised 50 million U.S. dollars PE investment. The private placement was led by two investors of Cybernaut Growth Fund and Shanghai Alliance Investment.

 

On March 23, 2009, CHINT's NOARK electrical products were released in Shanghai positioned at the high-end market.

 

on September 26,2009 – the CHINT and Electric Power Construction Summit was held in Wenzhou, and more than 300 experts and heads from the electric power industry and major design institutes, as well as distributors and partners of Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co., Ltd., attended the event on that day.

 

on October 30,2009 – Liu Qi, member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Beijing municipal party secretary, headed a delegation consisting of leaders from the Party committees and government departments of Beijing to visit the CHINT Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The visit is aimed at learning experience and the state-of-the-art solar energy production technology from enterprises of Zhejiang province so as to push forward the cooperation between Beijing and Zhejiang for mutual development.

 

on December 16,2009 – CHINT signed a framework agreement with the Wenzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone on the stationing of the CHINT 2G Solar Energy Membrane Project in the zone. According to the agreement, CHINT will invest RMB2 billion in the development zone to build up a 2G solar energy membrane project which will cover 200 mu while with a capacity of 240 megawatt.

 

on Jan. 21, 2010, Zhejiang CHINT Electrics Co., Ltd, successfully launched its IPO at the Shanghai Stock Exchange of China. IPO of this core business unit is a significant milestone to CHINT, which means after over two decades' accumulation and efforts, CHINT started to make its way as an emerging public holding company.

 

on February,2010 - Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co., Ltd. won the title of the “China's Outstanding Innovative Enterprise of the Year” at the awarding ceremony of the “2009 China’s Outstanding Innovative Enterprises Contest” jointly hosted by the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management and the magazine CEO&CIO in Beijing.

 

on February 2,2010 - the “2009 Quality Award for Enterprises in Zhejiang Province”, a top prize for quality management for enterprises in Zhejiang province, revealed its winner list which announced the appearance of Zhejiang Chint Electrics Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Chint Building Electrics Co; Ltd. with the former entering as the winner of the national quality award.

 

on April 12,2010 Shanghai Securities News – According to the annual report released for the first time by CHINT GROUP after its listing, the company’s proceeds of 2009 posted RMB4801 million, up 8.09 per cent year on year; net profits RMB571.96 million, surging 31.01 per cent year on year; earnings per share RMB0.85; the intended distribution of cash dividends RMB2.0 per 10 shares (tax included). In the meantime, CHINT also published its first Report on Enterprise's Social Responsibilities of its own accord since its listing.

 

On May,2010 – The Noark Electrics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was awarded the ISO9001 quality management system certificate by the Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), which signaled that the Noark has reached the international standards in terms of the integration of its management systems, being capable of steadily providing its customers with satisfactory anticipated products.
